they support microformat generation
Ross M signed up
and says microformats is a win
yeah i hear that from the pubsub guy too
good stuff!
one benefit I could see is the use of the ruby markup for dates
that would be appropriate
but I'm not sure it fits in the holy principles?

Tantek: yes it works now
but the technorati vCard is not really good in iCal
it does not say which number is "phone" or "fax"; they are both listed as "other"
not iCal, of course, AddressBook
the Calendar is perfectly fine
How would I extract a card on a site into iCal?
_fil_, yes, that is odd. I took a look at the vCard that is generated and it looks correct per spec, so I don't know why AddressBook is not understanding it.
Could it perhaps be due to the fact that those phone numbers have multiple types whereas the AddressBook UI seems to support only one?
I have no idea, I don't really use AddressBook myself :)

Is it good to post sites (which you've developed) which use hcards?

trovster, definitely!
add them to the "Examples in the Wild" section in the hCard spec
http://www.avf-nexus.com/contact/ is the only one "in the wild" officially, but a new one soon

a bunch of us are seeing if we can follow the microformats process regarding attention
see http://epeus.blogspot.com/
I've read it this morning

Hey, anyone know of 1) a good Firefox extension (or Greasemonkey script) that will show hcard information 2) one that will integrate them with iCal 3) I've forgotten the third!
check the implementations sections on the microformats wiki
for each format
http://www.technorati.com/attention.html not valid anymore
yes
we need to recreate that in kitchen
Well, there is a greasemonkey script, but doesn't work with FF1.5 and the new monkey
That attention stuff sounds really nice
I did not have the time to read it today, too much work.
Anyone want to add a "examples in the wild" to the WIKI as I don't have an account.
trv see the hCard spec in particular
http://microformats.org/wiki/hcard
there is an "Examples in the Wild" *section* in the spec
Yes, I want to add a site I've done which has hcards, but I'm not registered with the Wiki

hey tantek and kevin, would personal status pages count as attention? {http://www.43folders.com/2005/10/19/personal-status-page/}
certainly seems to have a lot of overlap

yes, KevinMarks
plan files are to unix as personal status pages are to the web

you know, to-do lists and GTD is ripe for microformatting
see VTODO objects in icalendar hence hCalendar
so essentially, hCalendar supports to-do lists
yeah
